Back to Soda City!

It had been many months since Jim and I visited the weekly Soda City Market in Columbia, South Carolina. It is a typical go to spot for Saturday mornings as it never disappoints.

There is always a fantastic selection of handcrafted goodies with the South Carolina symbol (a palmetto tree with a crescent moon).

All the colorful garden pieces catch my attention most.

The crowds are as big as ever!

We did see a lot of the regulars that were here prior to the pandemic.

We also noticed some mainstays missing. The market did shut down for some time at the beginning of the pandemic mess but a decision was made to re-open since so many small business were hurt by this.

It was brilliant to see an animal rescue league showing off their adoptable cuties.

I know! Ridiculous cuteness, right?

You can find handcrafted jewelry.
Marvelous photography and artwork.
Gigantic fancy mushrooms.
Your fresh produce for the week.
Have a balloon hat made.
Listen to street performers.
We noticed bubbles floating around in the sky and when we looked up saw kids where blowing them from a balcony above. There is a never a dull moment here!

This market runs every Saturday, year round from 9am - 1pm.

If you go:

Ranges the blocks of 1300 to 1600 Main Street in Columbia, SC

Street parking is free on Saturdays and we never have a problem findings a space nearby!

Have a marvelous day/evening (wherever you are on the clock)! ~Val

  4. What a good market! I can see why you are attracted to the lawn/garden things. A lot of those look really pretty and I wouldn't mind them in my garden too!
