Cute Fun

During a visit to the zoo last week, there was lot of activity. I don't normally film but could not help it this time! The videos are a cut off somewhat (not sure why).

Here the little guy was annoying his big daddy. Dad was just not having it anymore, hence the swipe. The little one kept going back for more which made it amusing and less like abuse as it would appear in humans.

We don't normally get to be so close to Bill. We were able to observe his chow time.

The siamings are hysterical when they are hootin' and hollerin' (what they are known for). This one requires sound!

Sloth movement is a rare sight to see since these guys usually just sleep. This one just finished breakfast. He moved ever so slowly!

Riverbanks Outing

These are some adorable photos taken a while back. The baby gorillas have grown slightly larger since I took these.  This family has 2 youngsters at the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, South Carolina.

Daddy is quite large!
He often hangs out right by the glass so visitors get an amazing view within inches!
The drama of the white rhinos continues.
Bill (the newest resident) is in front. Next to him is Winnifred. Bill is 17 and Winni is 4.
This little girl now likes Bill! Progress!
She is playful with him even though this looks like a violent scuffle.
Now Kande is off to the right. I believe in between their ages. There was a zoo keeper next to us filling us in on their entertaining stories.
Kande still does not care for Bill so she is not happy with Winni's developing relationship with him. She broke up their fun.
This is tricky since the plan for is Kande and Bill to make a baby since they are both of breeding age.  So the saga continues!
This cutie was busy munching on her eucalyptus but was kind enough to strike a pose for the camera.
This black footed cat (smallest cat species in the world) is not often seen active, being a cat and all. However we got lucky one day seeing him lively.

Not the cutest animals at the zoo, but I find it amusing that the baboons can be given a Budweiser box for fun.

My favorite faces at the zoo are the meerkats. They LOVE the camera.
Some of the tortoises seem enjoy modeling too.

If you go, the zoo is located at:

500 Wildlife Parkway in Columbia, SC.

open 7 days a week from 9am - 5pm.
