Wings of Greenville

Wings of the City is an exhibit of sculptures by Mexican artist Jorge Marin.

Perselidas Monumental
These are currently on display in Greenville, South Carolina.
Equilibrista 90

They demonstrate how beautiful the human form is.

Archivaldo Monumental

Abrazo Monumental

They also intrigue, leaving the viewer to wonder what the emotions are in each piece.

Split Monumental
A map is available for locating each piece.
Bernardo Oriental

If any of these look familiar, you may have come across them before since they have been traveling the globe since 2013. The Wings have been in places like Dubai, Singapore, Madrid and Berlin. It was exciting to see them 2 hours from home!

El Tiempo
Yes there is a selfie set of wings too so the visitor can experience a brief angelic moment in a peaceful setting.
Wings of Mexico
There is one more piece located inside the Peace Center, behind glass. Beautiful to see, but difficult to photograph since the theater was closed at the time.

These beauties are on display through October 2021. All are located in downtown Greenville, SC.

Have a marvelous day/evening (wherever you are on the clock)! ~Val

  1. Intriguing! The beak/wings combo made me think of Icarus. I don't know why -- it's not like Icarus was a bird.

    1. I totally get it! I think the figures have a mythological look even though they are human.

  3. What an interesting exhibition, though the pointed nose on the figure made me think of the plague doctor mask! "Angel Val" looks good!
